The Hollies: An attractive 2-bedroom bungalow in Dorset.
The Hollies is an attractive 2-bedroom bungalow in a pretty village within the Jurassic coastal area of South West Dorset, a 5-minute stroll from an excellent pub. Close to Winfrith, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door, with easy access to local towns and popular visitor attractions, the coast is a 5-10 minute drive away or a bracing walk straight from the back door. There is plenty to see, do, and visit in the local area, with good access to visitor attractions from the property.
The Hollies is a mid-terrace property. Modern and comfortable, it features 3 bedrooms (2 double and 1 single), with a fold-out bed available for an extra child. There is an enclosed rear garden, 2 parking spaces, and it is dog-friendly (please enquire), with superb walks nearby. A relaxing and quiet holiday spot for a couple or small family.
Light, comfortable, and contemporary rooms include a modern kitchen with a large dining table for six and bifold doors opening directly onto the garden. The enclosed rear garden has a patio area with outdoor table and chairs for summer dining, along with a portable BBQ for cooking.
Heading from the kitchen towards the bedrooms and bathroom, an open-plan lounge offers a cosy, 'real effect' electric flame fire. Both front bedrooms overlook the pretty garden, while the back double bedroom features a skylight with a remote solar-powered blind and up-lighting. Between the bedrooms is a modern fitted bathroom with a p-shaped bath, overhead shower, and heated towel rail.
It's a lovely setting and quiet location for guests looking to get away from it all. There is a village green at the bottom of the lane for children to play in and let off steam.
From the drive, the front door is reached via 3 steps up and along a paved path. There are 2 allocated parking spaces in a shared driveway; please refer to parking instructions. The back garden is private, enclosed, and well-fenced.
Dogs: Your four-legged family friend is welcome too; I will try to accommodate you all if bringing more than one, so please enquire. Please note that the garden backs onto farmland with sheep and a pony (please do not feed the pony as he’s on a special diet!), and dogs must be kept on leads outside of the property front and drive as these areas are communal. Dogs are free to 'sniff' in the back garden.
Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival, and check-out is at 10am on the day of departure. Later checkout may be available, charged at £15 per extra hour. Please note that this is a mid-terrace property, and we kindly ask guests to be respectful of our neighbours’ homes. I live close to The Hollies and am on hand to answer any questions you may have before and during your stay.

It provided the best night's sleep I've had while away, truly feeling like a home away from home. The place was immaculately clean and delightful to stay in, with easy access to great sights in the area despite the feeling of being secluded. We will definitely be returning to the area, and I already know where I'll be booking. Thank you for the wonderful communication and for being an amazing host with such an incredible place. - Pub: There is a good pub in the village, The Sailors Return, which offers a warm welcome and delicious food and is dog friendly too.
- Shops: Winfrith Village Stores and two great farm shops are just 5 mins drive away and there is easy access to local towns of Wareham and Dorchester for supermarkets and other shops.
- Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be notified in writing to the owner. Once received, the owner will confirm to you the cancellation in writing. If a guest cancels more than 6 weeks before the holiday is due to start, then the non-refundable deposit is retained by the owner and guest is not liable to pay the owner the balance. If the guest has already paid in full then they will be refunded the balance. If cancellation is less than 6 weeks before the holiday start date, then the full amount is still owed to the owner. The owner will try their best to re-book any cancelled holiday dates but is under no obligation to do so. If in the unlikely event a booking is cancelled by the owner then the guest will be promptly refunded the amount that they have already paid to the owner. If you need to change your holiday dates, please let the owner know as soon as possible and it may be possible to move your booking to alternative dates. There may be a £50 admin fee for this and dates may only be changed once. If it is not possible for the owner to offer alternative dates or the guest does not accept the dates offered and the guest has to cancel the holiday then the above cancellation policy (above) applies.
- Places of interest: Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are 5-10 mins drive and the Tank Museum, Lulworth Castle are 15 mins away. There are a lot of visitor attraction within 30 mins drive away.
