The Lakeside Retreat at Tallington holiday rental is the go to dog friendly self catering holiday let for couples, families, & friends. This 2-bedroom lakeside lodge is located at the top of the biggest lake, you’ll enjoy far reaching views over the fields at the back, and the lake at the front, which bathes in sunshine all day long. Close to Stamford for fine shopping and dining, and even close enough for a day trip to the Norfolk coast, the Lakeside Retreat caters for all your needs - there’s even a dog friendly pub nearby!The space

Our 5 star lodge on a lake in the countryside is the perfect holiday rental!
With parking for two cars, an enclosed grassed garden, 40ft wraparound verandah and spacious suntrap decking, private patio with hot tub, loungers and picnic bench, plus a jetty, it’s ideal for quiet couples or lively families.
Kingsize bed with luxury bedding and bath en-suite,
Second double / twin and shower room. Single click clack sofa bed in lounge.
All bedding included (please bring own towels) , plus welcome pack and store cupboard necessities.
Full kitchen, all cosy residential spec with central heating and air con.
The quality and characterful decor is a real treat, with uninterrupted views over the lake. Need a smart TV and great Wi-Fi? Got that too!
Amazing views, peace and quiet - you may be too content to pop in the car to visit the pretty local villages and towns which include historic Stamford with beautiful Burghley House.We have dogs ourselves, and they are very welcome at our holiday rental at no extra cost. There is plenty of safe outside space, including a grassed garden with screened picket fencing and rigid screens to 4ft tall, a 40 ft wraparound verandah and spacious decking, and a jetty (yes, you can fish from it, and you can even launch a paddle board or kayak! Please ask if you wish to do this. You cannot swim in this lake, but there is OWS nearby - again, please ask for details.
All with gates so you can control the movement of your dogs. A warm outside shower, dog shampoo, towels. Beds & crates, bowls etc. Dogs are allowed on the furniture, *please bring your own throws and bedding.
Please note that there is a bird scarer nearby, it rarely goes off but we cannot predict when it will.Guest access
Step outside the holiday rental, and you will find peace and quiet, friendly neighbours, a 3km walk and a nosey around the lake, where many of the residents will say hello. The Lakeside Bar provides a welcome stop for a drink for you and your furry family too!
Dogs on lead is a site rule. The owner lives at the lake with 4 dogs, and has provided information on the many open spaces that are a short drive away.The lodge is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Other things to note
Please note this is not Tattershall Lakes, in fact we are over an hour away! Less than 1% of the lodges here are rentals.
There is an option to have one of the bedrooms as a twin instead of a double. There is also a single click-clack sofa-bed in the lounge. Please enquire if you would like to use this for an extra person.
There is currently a bird scarer nearby, it is very loud, does not go off very often, but please be aware if bringing dogs.
As well as the open air heated pool and water sports from April to September, there is also a challenging climbing tower and a newly surfaced ski slope for skiing and tobogganing!
The outdoor heated pool is on site and needs to be booked via Tallington Lakes as it is not part of our own amenities. It is a seasonal attraction and as such please do check directly with the site to avoid disappointment. Please note that it is not what I would class as an ‘amazing pool’ as decided by Airbnb. I am trying to get this removed.NOTE: Always check the full property details on your chosen booking platform - which should show the most up to date information available.

- Review from...: Airbnb: Just back from a lovely short break. Ali is a super responsive and helpful host. The welcome goodies for both humans and dogs is a lovely touch. The cabin is just as described. The view is wonderful, we often found ourselves just staring outside at the ducks and the water. Also catches the morning and afternoon sun for sitting outside with a coffee. Had to jump in the hot tub as well for a late afternoon dip. For those with dogs, we appreciated the multiple gates that mean you can control where your dog goes outside around the lodge. We visited Stamford and recommend the rennet and rind cheese shop for some delicious food. Also enjoyed a nice stroll through the grounds of Burghley House. Overall it was a brilliant stay, lovely accommodation, beautiful setting. We hope to return later this year! Thanks Ali. David March 2024
