Description:
Cherry Blossom Barn - a charming modern 2-bed barn in Cornwall
Cherry Blossom Barn is a charming modern 2-bed semi-detached converted barn located in the beautiful countryside near Hayle. Tucked away down a lane, the self catering cottage is one of 4 available at Frythens Cottages and neighbouring The Wren's Nest, Tilly's House and Bank Barn can also be booked.
Being close to both the North and South coasts, the bustling town of St Ives and the rugged, dramatic scenery of West Cornwall, there's plenty to see and do. Located just a 5 minute drive from the A30, all the local beaches and attractions are within easy reach of the property, making it the perfect base for exploring Cornwall.
Ideal for couples, families or friends, the barn is versatile with a king sized bedroom and a twin bedroom, kitchen/dining room and living room. With stunning country views, why not enjoy alfresco dining, watching the sunset on the patio or play games on the adjoining communal field along with our other guests.
The barn offers modern living with a fully fitted kitchen, including electric cooker with gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and all the essential pots, pans and equipment. The dining table and chairs are in the same space. Take two steps down to the comfy living room which has a 3 seater manual reclining sofa and an arm chair, perfect for relaxing in front of the TV or taking in the views of the countryside.
One step up from the kitchen/dining area to the hallway you'll find:
Bedroom 1 - boasts a king size bed, chest of drawers, clothes rail and dressing table.
Bedroom 2 - has two single beds, a wardrobe with drawer underneath for all of your belongings and an armchair, perfect for bedtime stories. The bathroom consists of a shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
Enjoy the outdoor life from your own garden area with patio and picnic bench (planted with young trees but not fully fenced) or take advantage of the adjoining guests field to relax or play
games.Guest access:
There is ample free parking at the property. As we are located in the countryside, we recommend that you have the use of a car.Other things to note:
As this is a barn conversion, there are a few steps inside the property, two from the living area to the kitchen and one from the kitchen to the bedrooms and bathroom. There are also four steps outside up to the door. The garden area is not fully fenced, we have planted trees around to make it your personal space separate from the communal field but are waiting for them to grow so please be aware of this if you have young children or a dog.
There is a small enclosed gravelled area to the back of the property.
If you have a baby in your party and would like to use our travel cot or highchair then please let us know.
We welcome the addition of one dog (charged at £25 per stay) but ask that no dogs are allowed onto the furniture or left alone in the property at any time. Also please keep dogs on a lead in the communal field as we neighbour a working farm and there are often animals in the surrounding fields.

Guest review
- Review from...: Airbnb: This is our third stay at Melanie’s place. The location is peaceful and rural, yet still within driving distance to many areas. The house is spotless and Melanie is an excellent host. We would definitely highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to stay in Cornwall. We have stayed in quite a few over the years but this is by far the best! Rachelle Jul '23

- Places of interest: Conveniently located just a 5 minute drive from the A30 and St Erth train station, Frythens Cottages are a central base for exploring West Cornwall. If you’re coming to Cornwall to enjoy the seaside then you’ll be spoilt for choice between the North and South coasts with several sandy beaches within a 10 minute drive, Marazion, Hayle, Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands to get you started! The ancient market town of Marazion with St Michael’s Mount is under 4 miles away. Boasting a long sandy beach and breathtaking views, it’s a must visit during your stay. St Ives is easily accessible and definitely worth taking the short train journey via the branch line from St Erth Station (a 5 minute drive away), taking in the fantastic views across Hayle’s 3 miles of golden sands along the way. When you’re there you can enjoy the many art galleries and shops as well as take in the sea air or book a trip on one of the sightseeing boats from the harbour. Other popular places nearby include Land’s End, Porthcurno, The Minack Theatre and Penzance to name but a few. If you fancy venturing a bit further then Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsula is definitely recommended, as are the maritime town of Falmouth and the cathedral city of Truro and there's always the Eden Project or even the Isles of Scilly! In the nearby village of St Erth you will find a pub, small shop with post office, a play park, church and lovely walks along the river. In the other direction, the village of Goldsithney has two pubs, a shop, post office and play park.
