Description:
Carpenter's Barn - a charming 2-bedroom barn conversation
Welcome to Carpenter's Barn, a charming 2-bedroom barn conversion. Our self catering cottage was once a workshop for the village manor and nestles in the large front garden of our smallholding.
Our peaceful, comfortable and well equipped cottage sleeps 3 people in one double, one single room and offers you everything you could want in a home from home.
This countryside oasis is a true rural retreat, yet only a few miles from Stratford upon Avon, the Cotswolds and a wealth of National Trust properties and other castles, gardens and attractions. Situated on the edge of the small village of Pillerton Hersey we are surrounded by countryside and enjoy direct access to beautiful footpaths straight from our garden gate.
Our small flock of Soay sheep set the scene as you enter our drive and our bees provide a small taste of country bliss for you as part of our locally sourced welcome basket.

Customer Choice awards from cottages.com in 2023, 2024.Open the front door to the warm welcome of the light and airy hallway leading to the downstairs cloakroom with toilet and washbasin, spacious coat cupboard and utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, iron and board and full sized freezer.
The internal door leads to the open plan living area, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, all tastefully decorated and with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen provides a double electric oven, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher, four ring electric hob, kettle, toaster and a well planned working space.
The dining area and not just one but two living areas allow you to eat in comfort, sit by the french windows and enjoy the captivating views of the garden, birds and wildlife (or open the doors wide and sit outside on the terrace on warm summer days), or cosy up in comfortable armchairs in front of the woodburner on colder evenings. Freeview TV, DVD player, a selection of DVDs, puzzles and board games are available to keep you entertained if you just feel like a bit of rest and relaxation.
Stairs from the living area lead to the landing, from which you will find a double bedroom with Freeview TV, single bedroom and shower room with shower cubicle, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Both bedrooms enjoy beautiful views across the garden.
Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included with a starter log basket for the woodburner. The Wi-Fi is strongest in the hallway and single bedroom. The terrace has a small table and chairs for al fresco dining and the adjacent carport has space for bicycles as well. There is space for a second car on the driveway beyond the carport.
Follow the footpath from our garden gate through our paddocks to meet our small flock of Soay sheep then down the hill to the bridge at the bottom where you can link into the footpath network around glorious local countryside.
We welcome children of 14 years and over.
Please note that we do not provide for electric vehicles.
Pet free cottage, we have our own dogs next door who are very friendly if you'd like to meet them but they are kept in our own grounds and separate from the cottage garden.
We're very sorry but no smoking, vaping, barbeques or candles.
Guests may check in between 3pm and 9pm on arrival day and leave by 10am on departure day. If we have extra changeover time we will let you know and can offer you some flexibility.
What3Words Riverboat.Obvious.Blueberry takes you to our garden gate but we can be found on Google Maps via our Google Business page. I will also whatsapp you a dropped pin after booking.

Guest review
- Review from...: Owners website: This was our second visit in 12 months and the welcome we got was as old friends. This property is the best quality we have found in 25 years of cottage holidays in the UK. It is amazing in its design and the quality of finish is excellent. The setting could not be better, beautiful grounds, quiet and plenty of footpaths for those who like walking in the countryside. We were blessed with beautiful weather and I can’t think of a more tranquil setting to relax. Thank you Berni & Tim for a lovely break. Nick, May 2024
